Documents

Boarding the boat is only possible after having:
• A signed contract with terms and conditions
• A 100% charter fee paid (additions are payable at the base)
• A deposit paid in case of damage to the boat

Deposit and expenses

The deposit will be charged prior to embarkation and if the Charterer fails to pay, the Operator reserves the right to cancel the booking without further liability and without any right to a refund. The charterer will not be entitled to continue the charter.

All optional extras (including water toys) must be ordered at least 14 days prior to charter. They are paid together with the Deposit during the registration procedures.

The charterer is responsible for additional out-of-pocket expenses incurred during the charter, such as fuel, water, electricity, meals, pilotage, mooring and docking fees, port fees, cruise taxes and parking permits and customs duties – these fees are not part of the charter package. The charterer rents the boat with a full tank of fuel and must also return with a full tank of fuel (more information below).

Skills maneuverable

The skipper is required to demonstrate his/her skills in maneuvering the yacht in the marina or port during check-in. It consists in the fact that, shortly before the planned departure, in the presence of the Operator’s employee, the helmsman shows that he is in control of the yacht.

In the event of a negative assessment of the Operator’s employee, the skipper is obliged to purchase a 1.5-hour training course, and if the training does not bring any progress, he is obliged to pick up the skipper from the charter company in accordance with the price list. In this case, the cost of the training covers the skipper’s first day of work.

Appointing a new skipper may take up to 24 hours, however, if no skipper is available, the charter may be canceled; The Operator is not responsible for any delay, change of the Charterer’s cruise plan or its cancellation.

Briefings

Once all document and payment procedures are completed, we continue with the check-in procedures. We conduct briefings to audit the boat’s condition, inventory, provide information on weather conditions, mooring and anchorage locations, sailing procedures in Zanzibar and provide other useful advice. The briefing is divided into three parts:

  1. Inventory control;
  2. technical briefing;
  3. chart briefing.

We make every effort to ensure that the boat provides the highest quality and that you are fully informed about all the most important matters related to sailing in Zanzibar.

Cruise area

The sailing area for bareboat charter includes all islands of the Zanzibar archipelago.

Night mooring

In Zanzibar, mooring or anchoring must be done by 5.30 p.m. daily. Sailing cannot begin earlier than 6:00 a.m. Swimming is prohibited from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Breaking these rules is tantamount to losing your deposit.

Journal

Maintaining a Yacht Log is required by local authorities and insurance companies, so the Charterer is obliged to update it daily. In the event of an accident or any loss, the booklet is the basis for an investigation.

Use of the generator

The charterer can use the generator 8 hours a day. Each additional hour of use of the generator costs 3 Euro. This price does not include the price of the fuel used.
